Thrifting has become much more popular in the last few years. Not only is thrifting more affordable for people, but it is also better for the environment than buying new, fast fashion that has also become popularized in the last ten years. In fact, according to Goodwill: “Manufacturing, producing, packaging, and distributing new clothing takes a lot of energy and water. Disposing of unwanted clothing also takes a toll on the environment. In the United States, individuals throw out 60 to 80 pounds of textile waste each year.”

If you’re looking for the best thrift stores in the DMV area, look no further.ere is a top five list of thrift stores and goodwills in the area where you can find everything from home decor to electronics as well as clothes and shoes:

  2. Next up we have Martha’s Outfitters located in Logan Circle and Anacostia. They carry men’s and women’s clothing as well as home goods.  When you find something great here, you can rest assured that the money you spend is going toward a good cause.
