For the past few months, we have had the pleasure of looking back at various TV shows that came out last year, both good and bad. The time has come, though, to see which ones were the best to grace the screen. There was no shortage of excellent TV programs, and I compiled a list below of what I felt were some of the most entertaining shows to come out last year. So let’s not look back on some of 2025’s  best TV shows.

5. Peacemaker

James Gunn continues to expand his ever-growing DC Universe with another adrenaline-fueled season of Peacemaker. Gunn’s signature brand of humor and fast pacing allows for some great character development for the 11th Street Kids, aka Team Peacemaker. John Cena easily carries this show, bringing a career-best performance that is simultaneously funny and gut-wrenching. The story’s execution might leave something to be desired, but the devoted performances and stellar action more than make up for it.

4. The Studio

Seth Rogen swept all the awards shows for his latest workplace comedy, and for good reason: it’s just funny! Rogen nails the satire of the growing problems in Hollywood while still championing the filmmakers who are trying to improve the system. The tight, efficient pacing coupled with the stellar cinematography creates a strenuous atmosphere that immerses the audience in this chaotic film studio workplace. While the show is mainly targeted at cinephiles and those in the mood for some raunchy humor, I feel it hits bullseyes with just about every joke while still creating an engaging story.

3. The Pitt

This medical drama brings Noah Wyle—famous for playing Dr. John Carter in ER—back into the emergency room for more hospital antics. The heavily acclaimed series offers a refreshingly grounded take on the genre, depicting a 12-hour emergency room shift in an hour-by-hour story structure. The show features some spectacular VFX, and its breakneck pacing makes the environment all the more believable. There might be a few too many story threads packed in here but, fortunately, the show has enough memorable characters who will keep you locked in.

2. It: Welcome to Derry

Director Andy Muschietti takes viewers on a road trip down memory lane all the way back to 1962 in Derry, Maine, which is home to all sorts of government conspiracies and killer clowns. The show’s first season made a terrific impression, with its pilot episode offering a phenomenal bait-and-switch that set the tone for the series. Each storyline is clearly defined, packed with a whole slew of quirky characters all played convincingly by the show’s cast. The creepy atmosphere and return of Bill Skarsgård are more than enough to warrant any horror fan to check this out!

Honorable Mention: Daredevil: Born Again

1. Andor

The second and final season from the highly acclaimed Star Wars series covers the last four years leading up to the events of Rogue One and does so with gusto. Showrunner Tony Gilroy crafts another compelling season, structuring it in four story arcs that span about three episodes each. Frontloaded with timely themes and gripping VFX, the show builds on top of the first season while cleverly expanding its scope and ambition. Featuring some of the best performances from the last year, Andor’s final season delivers all the spectacle and drama any Star Wars fan or casual moviegoer would want.
