After several weeks of very low crime in the area around campus, this week saw a return of both numerous property crimes as well as multiple violent crimes. Vehicle-related crime continues to plague Brookland, and Saturday saw a double stabbing within a couple of blocks of campus. 

September 2

  • Commercial Theft: 600 bl. Monroe St., NE (12:00 a.m.)
  • Theft from Auto: 3800 bl. 12th St., NE (11:50 a.m.)
  • Theft: 400 bl. Taylor St., NE

September 3

  • Theft from Auto: 3000 bl. Chancellors Way, NE (12:00 a.m.)

September 4

  • Theft from Auto: 3800 bl. 12th St., NE (8:00 a.m.)
  • Theft from Auto: 3300 bl. 9th St., NE (11:43 a.m.)
  • Disorderly Conduct: Brookland-CUA Metro. Transit Police arrested a subject for disorderly conduct (8:48 p.m.)

September 5

  • Theft from Auto: 100 bl. Michigan Ave., NE (1:53 p.m.)
  • Theft from Auto: 200 bl. Hawaii Ave., NE (5:00 p.m.)
  • Theft from Auto: 1400 bl. Jackson St., NE (1:09 p.m.)
  • Residential Theft: 3800 bl. 12th St., NE (2:50 p.m.)
  • Theft from Auto: 3400 bl. 15th St., NE (11:29 a.m.)
  • Vandalism: Brookland-CUA Metro (9:57 p.m.)

September 6

  • Double Stabbing: 4300 bl. Harewood Rd., NE. Two teenagers, reportedly 16 and 17 years of age, were stabbed during a large fight at Archbishop Carroll High School during a football game. Both victims were transported to a hospital conscious and breathing. Four people were arrested at the scene. Christopher McSweeney, age 25, was arrested and charged with Failure to Obey and Duane Page, age 32, was arrested and charged with Affray. Two other suspects, believed to be minors, were also arrested. No CUA community members were involved, according to DPS (3:11 p.m.)
  • Robbery/Sexual Assault: 3300 bl. 8th St., NE. The suspect robbed the victim at gunpoint before sexually assaulting them. The incident took place outside near apartments, according to a police report (12:00 a.m.)

September 7

  • Domestic Assault: Brookland-CUA Metro (4:03 p.m.)

September 8 

  • Motor Vehicle Theft: 400 bl. Taylor St., NE (4:06 p.m.)
  • Commercial Theft: 3400 bl. 8th St., NE (11:44 a.m.)
  • Theft from Auto: 3900 bl. 12th St., NE (2:30 p.m.)
