Meet Steve Kreider, the Associate Dean of Students, Director of Student Engagement, and head coach of the Women’s Ultimate Frisbee team at The Catholic University of America. As the first staff member featured in The Tower’s highlight series, Kreider’s impact on campus life is one of high significance and one that students greatly feel.
Kreider began his journey at CUA in 2006 as the Program Coordinator of Campus Activities. Since then, he has become a familiar and beloved presence across campus. Many students recognize him from Orientation, where he plays a key role in organizing and leading the program, helping new Cardinals feel welcomed from their first day on campus.
Before arriving at CUA, Kreider earned his undergraduate degree from Penn State University and went on to complete his graduate degree at the University of Memphis.
Over the years, Kreider has established himself as an essential member of the CUA community, working tirelessly to enhance the student experience. Whether he’s coordinating campus programming, mentoring student leaders, or cheering on the sidelines at an Ultimate Frisbee match, his commitment is evident and felt by his staff, team, and the student body at large.
When asked about his favorite part of the job, Kreider shared, “I love that I get to have an impact on students and help them.” That passion is visible in his work and in the relationships he builds with students across campus.
Outside of his administrative roles, Kreider is active in the Ultimate Frisbee community, competing, refereeing, and coaching in various competitions. In his free time, he also enjoys spending time with his wife and their two dogs, Walter and Lillian.
