When many fans go to a sporting event, one of the places they frequently visit at the stadium is a concession stand. Some popular menu items offered at sports stadiums during games include hot dogs, pizza, French fries, ice cream, and a vast selection of beverages such as soda, lemonade, and beer for the over-21 crowd.

Many Major League Baseball (MLB) teams have announced updates to their concession stand menus effective March 27, which is MLB’s Opening Day. One of the new items that has piqued fans’ interest is at Yankee Stadium: an Italian dessert called tiramisu, which is now available in souvenir helmet bowls adorned with the New York Yankees logo.

According to the announcement on the Yankees’ Instagram page, the tiramisu helmets are available alongside other confections from Christian Petroni, a chef, restaurateur, and cookbook author from the Bronx, New York, the same borough where Yankee Stadium is located within New York City.

The online Yankee Stadium Dining Guide explains that fans can enjoy some of Petroni’s culinary creations at stands behind Sections 125 and 310. However, they can only purchase the tiramisu helmets from the Section 125 location.

The tiramisu helmets are not the only new menu item to debut at Yankee Stadium’s food and drink vendors in 2025. The Yankees announced on March 20 that fans can expect to see 18 new items across the stadium’s various refreshment stations this year, including dumplings, tacos, empanadas, lobster rolls, and multiple cocktails. An article in Sports Illustrated published a few hours after the Yankees’ announcement applauded the team for offering “different kinds of food in a more gourmet style than traditional stadium fare.”

Fans have mixed reactions to the Yankees’ new menu items introduced this season. Following the team’s announcement, comments revealed a blend of excitement and disappointment among supporters.

A post from the official MLB Instagram account featuring the tiramisu helmets sparked particular discussion. While some praised the creative dessert as a fun addition to the game day experience, others questioned the appeal and practicality of the new tiramisu helmets. This ongoing dialogue highlights fans’ desire for innovative, high-quality food that enhances their overall enjoyment at the stadium.

Some negative comments on both posts focused on fans’ grievances about the concession stand prices, even though neither post indicated the menu price for the tiramisu helmets or the Yankees’ other new items. Fans argued that the Yankees allegedly concentrated too much on trivial things that distracted from every MLB team’s goal of winning the World Series. To that end, some people took to the comments sections of both posts to troll the Yankees for their epic collapse in Game 5 of the 2024 World Series. Though limited, some fans did voice their excitement about the tiramisu helmets in both comment sections.

As the season continues, it will be interesting to see how these items are received and if any changes are made based on fan feedback. Ultimately, only time will tell if these tiramisu helmets are worth the price.
