Welcome to this week’s crime blotter. The week saw more vehicle crime and commercial burglaries as well as some violent crime and drug activity.

On March 20, around 3:05 p.m., MPD responded to a shooting in the 600 block of Edgewood St., NE, and found an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds. He was conscious and breathing, according to an MPD official. The location is outside of our normal reporting area but is about half a mile from the southern border of campus. No suspect lookout was available.

March 18

Drugs/Assault/Theft: 4500 blocks Fort Totten Dr., NE. Officers responded to a domestic disturbance and discovered drug material on the suspect. 22-year old Jasmine Lucero-Garza was arrested and charged with Theft, Simple Assault, and Possession of a Controlled Substance. She has pleaded not guilty (1:12 a.m.)

Theft from Business: 3600 blocks 12th St., NE (3:57 p.m.)

March 21

Strangulation: 200 bl. Michigan Ave., NE. 41-year old Marvin Parker was arrested and charged with Felony Domestic Strangulation (12:37 a.m.)
Drug Distribution: 4500 bl. Fort Totten Dr., NE. 38-year old Jesmond Posey was arrested and charged with Possession With Intent To Distribute A Controlled Substance (10:40 p.m.)

Armed Robbery: Brookland-CUA Metro Station. A victim was robbed of over $400 and clothing. Officers responding found the suspect on Monroe Street at 12th Street and placed him under arrest. 51-year old Jonathan Warner was arrested and charged with Robbery (Force and Violence) (11:02 a.m.)

March 24

Motor Vehicle Theft: Unit bl. Michigan Ave., NE (2:21 p.m.)
Assault: 4500 bl. Fort Totten Dr., NE. 23-year old Yanna Hanford was arrested and charged with Simple Assault (4:52 p.m.)
