Welcome to this week’s crime blotter. Theft from vehicles remained a problem in the area, with five more incidents reported in this period. Several vehicle thefts and assault incidents also occurred. Violent crime remains much lower in the area than this time last year.

Attempted Robbery: Brookland-CUA Metro station (2:11 p.m.)
Theft from Vehicle: 4400 bl. 1st St., NE
Motor Vehicle Theft: 1000 bl. Bunker Hill Rd., NE

February 27

Assault: 400 bl. Taylor St., NE. 39-year old Mariam Nhi was arrested and charged with Simple Assault (5:36 p.m.)
Assault: 3200 bl. 8th St., NE. 23-year old Charissa Randolph was arrested and charged with Simple Assault (8:59 p.m.)

Commercial Burglary: 3900 bl. 12th St., NE (overnight)
DUI: 700 bl. Taylor St., NE. 43-year old Kwame Dixon was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence – 1st offense and Driving While Impaired. Dixon pleaded not guilty. (10:30 a.m.)

March 2

Driving Violations: 400 bl. Michigan Ave., NE. 26-year old Maiker Montana Guanda was arrested and charged with No Permit – 2nd Offense and Counterfeit Tags (4:30 p.m.)
