Built off of Artechouse’s recent exploration of the Pantone Classic Color of the Year, Classic Blue, the location’s new exhibit is an immersive experience that is a pleasing representation of a distinct, elemental experience. Artechouse decided to expand further into its original exploration of Classic Blue and thus transformed three of their locations into unique representations of the color.
Designed as an expansion to their exploration of Classic Blue, Artechouse created a further immersive experience that sought to center one’s thoughts and foster resilience in their visitors. The exhibit is represented in all three of Artechouse’s locations. Along with their D.C. exhibit, the same themes are also featured at Celestial, located in New York City, and Aqueous, located in Miami, FL.
Their D.C. location, Crystalline, explores the colors’ connection to the earth and crystals through a journey described by the site as, “both an adventure and a contemplation.” Crystalline was designed in order for visitors to become fully submerged into the sights and sounds of the exhibit, centering thoughts and grounding the human spirit. Crystalline opened October 15th, 2020 to rave reviews, with visitors describing the exhibit as “an experience that changes your perception of what art can be.”
Crystalline was designed to encapsulate all of Classic Blue’s qualities, creating a fully immersive experience that represents the human desire for a stable foundation that often feels out of reach, especially during these turbulent times. Intended as a refuge from the every day, each room is intricately detailed in order to inspire visitors to learn more about their surroundings and more about themselves.
Originally opened in June 2017, Artechouse has been dedicated to showcasing experiential and technology-driven works by artists who are forerunners of the new age in the arts and technology. Artechouse works to connect audiences to the arts and stimulate interest in the limitless possibilities of technology, science, and creativity.
“Certain things words just cannot describe…they must be seen and experienced… In every city there is a space for fine arts, theater, music, films, etc.,” said Founder & Art Director of Artechouse Sandro Kereselidze. “Our goal is to create an innovative, new age arts destination dedicated to experiential and exploratory arts that is created at the intersection of art, science, and technology.”
Since its opening, Artechouse has attracted over 400,000 visitors and attracted attention globally, making headlines in the New York Times, BBC, USA Today, and numerous other national and international publications as a premier contemporary art space.
